Xiao is Genshin Impact's first Anemo DPS, with adept Liyue conquering all demons in Teyvat with his Polearm. We've got the best Xiao build in Genshin Impact right here, including the main artifacts, weapons, and more you need to pick up.

Xiao can best be described as the ultimate one-man army of the Impacto de Genshin . The Liyue adeptus boasts one of the highest DPS in the game, especially when it's built the right way. However, it's still important to build a strong team around it so you can maximize it.

We've got the definitive guide to Xiao right here, including his best build in Genshin Impact and the top artifacts, weapons, and team components you should run with Vigilant Yaksha.

Xiao is the ultimate DPS character in Genshin Impact with high damage and great mobility.

    Xiao no Genshin Impact Abilities

    Normal Attack: Swirl Thrust

    • Normal attack: Xiao performs up to six consecutive spear blows.
    • Charged Attack: Xiao consumes a certain amount of Stamina to perform an upward boost.
    • Dive Attack: Xiao dives from the air to hit the ground below, dealing damage to opponents along the way and dealing AoE DMG on impact. Xiao does not prevent DMG from performing Dive Attacks.

With Xiao, you want to do as many drop attacks as possible as it is your highest DPS. As he has a higher jump than normal compared to other characters, he can dive easily and does great AOE damage. Just make sure you dive when you reach the apex of your jump for maximum damage.

You can also combine a normal attack into a charged attack to cancel its animation, then jump into the air and dive enemies as they fall.

    Elemental Ability: Lemniscatic Wind Cycling

Xiao's elemental ability pushes Liyue's adept forward, doling out Anemo's DMG to enemies in her path. It can be used in the air to hit weak spots on certain targets, as well as reposition in a fight.

He has two charges of it in his base kit, but can get an extra charge with his first constellation and infinite upgrade by hitting two targets with his sixth constellation, making it more than just a movement tool and worth investing in (if you find all these constellations).

Elemental Blast: Curse of All Evil

Xiao's Elemental Blast is the core of his kit, with adept Liyue wearing the Yaksha Mask that made gods and demons tremble millennia ago. This greatly increases her jumping ability, increases her ATK, and imbues her attacks with Anemo, which is great for swirling elemental reactions.

Xiao will lose HP while wearing the mask and can be interrupted by leaving the field. However, it's important to maximize Burst's uptime, so bring in a healer or shielder that can keep Xiao strong even off the field so he can make the most of it.

Xiao's Elemental Blast is the key to maximizing your DPS.

    Xiao constellations

Lucky enough to get multiple copies of Xiao? You have a lot of big constellation fans to look forward to.

Best Xiao Artifacts in Genshin Impact

Xiao does not necessarily need to be forced into a specific four-piece artifact set in Genshin Impact. In reality, it benefits mainly from two-piece sets — such as the Anemo DMG Bonus from Viridescent Venerer and ATK from Gladiator's Finale and Shinenawa's Reminiscence.

The most important thing is to get good main and sub-stats. This includes the bonus Anemo DMG from his chalices, and plenty of CRIT and DMG from his medallions and sub-dice.

Best Xiao weapons in Genshin Impact

There are two weapons highlighted for Xiao that are very flexible in all situations. The only downside is that both Primordial Winged Spear of Jade and Staff of Homa are five-star weapons that are difficult to obtain. If you have one, you should run it on Xiao regardless, because the ATK buffs are huge.

Lithic Spear is also great, especially if you run a Liyue national team with players like Zhongli and Xingqiu (more on that below), due to passive scales based on the number of Liyue characters in your party. However, this forces you into a specific playstyle.

Check out the full list of Xiao's best weapons in Genshin Impact below.

Primal Jade Winged SpearOn hit, increases ATK by 3,2% for 6s. Maximum 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0,3s. While in possession of as many stacks as possible, the DMG dealt is increased by 12%.
home teamHP increased by 20%. Additionally, it offers an ATK bonus based on 0,8% of the user's maximum HP. When the wielder's HP is less than 50%, this ATK bonus is increased by an additional 1% of the maximum HP.
lytic spearFor each character in the party that comes from Liyue, the character who equips this weapon gains 7% increased ATK and 3% increased CRIT rate. This effect stacks up to 4 times.

Xiao Talent Level Up and Ascension Materials

Being a Liyue adept, you can expect to find most of Xiao's materials in the region. Slime Condensate can be found everywhere, but special items like Shadow of the Warrior and Juvenile Jade are from Liyue's Childe and Primo Geovishap bosses respectively.

Qingxin can be found scattered around Liyue Mountain, while Vayuda Turquoise can be obtained from bosses such as Anemo Hypostasis or Maguu Kenki.

    Xiao em Genshin Impact Trailer

Xiao's trailer dropped ahead of its February 2021 release during the first Rite of the Lantern event, introducing the Vigilant Yaksha and delving into his backstory dating back to the millennia-old War of the Archons.

He also dives into some of his combos and enhanced movement techniques, which are key to mastering Xiao.

    Best Xiao team competition

Zhongli gives Xiao all the support he needs.

Xiao is basically a one-man army. He can handle all the damage all by himself and it's worth having him out in the field as much as possible. That means when you're building a comp around Xiao, you want to get the most out of his Support and Sub DPS units, which can drop your spells and submarines.

However, there is a non-negotiable option if you really want to maximize your Xiao, which is Zhongli . It's a heavy investment to get the two Liyue stars, but Zhongli's protection makes Xiao unreachable and also resistant to some enemy crowd control that can be critical to your freefall playstyle. To take albedo next to Zhongli for geo-resonance is also a great idea.

You also want an Anemo support like Sucrose , Winds or same Jean in his squad, which can provide Xiao Elemental Particles as a battery, as well as Anemo Resonance. Jean fulfills the good dual role of being a healer, but you can complete your team with dione , Xing Qiu , Bennett or even kokomi if you don't have Jean.

If you flex around these options, making sure you have at least a healer, a shielder, and an Anemo battery for Xiao (some of these characters play multiple roles), then you're on the right track.
