A prominent video game journalist suggests Kojima's alleged next Xbox game is less likely to be featured at E3 2021.

Rumors about a certain collaboration between the Xbox and the Kojima have increased significantly in recent weeks. Fans are speculating what the creative minds of Kojima Productions  could invent with the long list of Xbox features.

To E3 2021 coming, many would expect Kojima to be a part of the Xbox showcase, however, a new rumor suggests that this will likely not be the case.

Speculation about Kojima's partnership with Xbox for a new project began to surface when wide-eyed fans noticed a figure of Ludens next to the Xbox symbol on a live stream of Phil Spencer

Spencer's past broadcasts have sparked future announcements, and fans have made a habit of carefully observing her bookshelves and other nearby objects for subtle clues.

Speculations escalated even further when prominent gaming journalist Jeff grubb suggested that Xbox is indeed in talks with Kojima to publish his next game.

Unfortunately, nothing like that has been suggested or confirmed by Kojima at this point. And if Grubb's latest statement on the matter is any indication, fans might not get a glimpse of Kojima's next game anytime soon.

Answering a fan question on the latest episode of Game Mess Show, Grubbs hints at how the deal might not close in time for Microsoft's E3 showcase. “I didn't hear any updates there,” he says. "My hunch is that things won't get done by the time of E3."

Grubb even hints at how a reveal would make a lot more sense at The Game Awards than it did at E3. It's no surprise that The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley is good friends with Kojima. Kojima also made several appearances at The Game Awards. In addition to presenting and receiving awards, Kojima revealed a new trailer for Death Stranding at TGA 2017.

On the other hand, Xbox has also had an important presence at TGA in recent years. Many would remember the unexpected reveal of the Xbox Series X and Saga: Hellblade 2 by Senua at TGA 2019. Halo Infinite would likely steal the spotlight at Xbox's E3 showcase alongside the supposed Starfield . As such, a Kojima Xbox reveal is better suited for TGA if you want the much-needed space and spotlight.

O Game Awards doesn't air until December, so Kojima might want to hang on a little longer. That said, there are endless exciting possibilities of what the Kojima and Xbox collaboration would bring, and if that's the case, then fans are in for a treat.
