Xbox Cloud Gaming with Xbox Series X quality is available for PC and iOS through Game Pass

Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Cloud Gaming has been made available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on PC and iOS. Additionally, the service is now being powered by custom Xbox Series X hardware.

Formerly powered by Xbox One S consoles, Xbox Cloud Gaming debuted for Android mobile devices in September 2020, offering access to over 100 games using a compatible controller. Additionally, over 50 of these games now also support touch controls.

In April, Microsoft began inviting Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to a beta of cloud gaming for Windows 10 PCs and Apple devices via Edge, Chrome and Safari browsers.

The service was open to all Game Pass subscribers on PC and iOS, and has also been updated to provide “significant improvements” to the overall experience.

"Xbox Cloud Gaming is now powered by custom Xbox Series X hardware," wrote Xbox Cloud Gaming Vice President and Chief Product Officer Catherine Gluckstein on Xbox Wire. "We're upgrading Microsoft data centers around the world with the fastest and most powerful Xbox hardware to deliver faster load times, improved frame rates, and a new-generation gaming experience."

“To ensure the lowest latency and the highest quality experience on the widest set of devices, we will stream at 1080p and up to 60fps. Going forward, we will continue to innovate and add more features to enhance your cloud gaming experience.”

Microsoft also revealed a new range of accessories designed for cloud gaming on iOS.
