Game CEO Says Sony and Nintendo Consoles “Make Perfect Sense for Roblox”
Roblox may come to Sony and Nintendo consoles in the near future.
Speaking during the Q2021 XNUMX earnings call, Roblox Corporation CEO and co-founder Dave Baszucki said that “Switch, PlayStation, Quest, all these platforms make perfect sense for Roblox.” The quest he references is the Oculus Quest, which means VR Roblox could also be on the cards in the future.
Roblox is currently only available for PC, Mobile and Xbox One, but players on other consoles have been asking for the free game builder to come to their consoles. It already has an impressive player base, with Roblox Corporation revealing that the game reached 150 million monthly active players as of June 2020.
It's easy to see why Roblox's creators would like to see it spread to other platforms like the PS4, PS5, and especially the Nintendo Switch, which has sold nearly 85 million units as of March 31, 2021. That's a robust market for which Roblox could enter. There's also room to expand with an official Xbox Series X port, though the game currently runs on the console via backwards compatibility.Read also

Roblox is often compared to Minecraft, and while there can certainly be many similarities between the two titles, Roblox is capable of creating much more than just Lego-style blocky worlds. It's really more of a game creation tool, whereas Minecraft is a game that features building and crafting.
Who knows, we might even see an announcement of new platforms for Roblox at E3 2021, which is just a few weeks away at this point. Roblox Corporation isn't on the official list of participants yet, but that doesn't mean it won't be there.
