Despite being the face of Valorant, Viper is considered the weakest agent in the game. When asked whether or not this will change, Riot developers confirmed that she won't be getting buffs anytime soon.
Viper is in many of the wallpapers you see from Valorant. Her neon green, cybergoth exterior has somehow become the face of the game, with even North America's First Strike NSG posters featuring her as his agent of choice.
Attracting a large amount of cosplayers, Riot has successfully created a character that people immediately associate with Valorant, and that most people would definitely want to try out. Still, Viper has become one of the least played agents in the game and almost never appears in professional games. The reason is simple: she is very weak.
A recent statement from one of the game's developers confirmed that despite the Viper network asking for buffs, no changes are planned in the near future.

In response to a fan asking what future patches they would have in store for the Viper, Riot dev Altombre stated that there were no plans to improve Viper's kit in upcoming patches.
Citing First Strike as the main reason, Altombre explains that a buff to the agent midway through the competitive months would launch the meta into a completely new state in the midst of competition.
Noting that Riot knows that Valorant's protagonist needs "a little help", the developers agreed that "a few patches" will be needed before there are any relevant changes.
For now Viper players will continue to struggle in the current meta of the game, hopefully there will be some light at the end of the tunnel.
