RetroArch has quickly become one of the most convenient ways to use a variety of emulators and organize a collection of ROMs, and it keeps getting new features and updates all the time. Now 'all the time' is about to become 'every two weeks' as the developers behind the emulation frontend are committing to a roadmap and more frequent updates.

“We have a roadmap now,” say the developers in the RetroArch 1.9.3 release notes, “and you can expect more frequent releases from this point on. We aim for a new version every two weeks. This roadmap is currently quite light on major updates, but you can expect to see it start filling up with additional features and fixes soon.

RetroArch's version 1.9.3 release is quite light on things relevant to PC users. It's primarily focused on performance improvements for people playing through console homebrew. Still, with more frequent updates, you should expect to see a lot to improve your retro gaming experience sooner rather than later.

Previously, RetroArch updates were quite unpredictable, and while it's not uncommon for releases to occur a few weeks apart, it can often take months between releases.
