Could it be related to the next iteration of PSVR?

Sony's London Studios has posted job listings that appear to indicate the team is working on a "new next-gen IP" for the PS5, yet to be announced.

London Studios is perhaps best known for his work on games like EyeToy, PlayStation VR Worlds and Blood and Truth.

Most of its games are peripheral-based, but a recent list from the studio might suggest an outlet for its next title.

One of the job listings on the developer's website mentions that he is looking for a "gamplayonte designer" to work on a PS5 title, with online play being very important to the game.

This raises some eyebrows quickly, both with the mention of online play, and with the platform being the PS5, and not specifically the next iteration of PSVR.

The fact that online multiplayer plays a major role in the game is interesting, but the list also says that they will need to work with narratives and led quests, which implies that there will be some sort of structure to the game.

The paper also specifically calls the game a "new next-gen IP," meaning it won't be related to Truth and Blood, EyeToy, or any other game the studio has made for PlayStation so far.

While it's nice to think that London Studios might move away from peripheral-based games and try something more traditional, the most likely explanation for this is that it's developing software for the PS5 iteration of the PSVR.

This would align much more with what the studio has done previously, and the online and story elements could still be implemented in a PSVR title, especially if it evolves into what can be done in VR.

There are also mentions of "latest PlayStation hardware", which sounds more like PSVR and accessories than the regular PS5.

Still, there's no specific mention of PSVR in the job listing, so it's entirely possible that the studio is doing something completely different for its next game.

It will be interesting to see where this leads to the team.
