Outriders features an auto-save function like many other games, but some players prefer to keep manual control of their saves.
So far, players seem to be really enjoying Outriders now that the game is fully released but all good things must come to an end.
At some point, players will have to shut down the game and come back to it later, and veteran players know they should never do that without first making sure their progress has been saved.
That said, recent games have adopted autosave features where players are not able to manually create, load or manipulate their save files, and this is one such game. To be clearer, players cannot manually save their game on Outriders.
Fortunately, there's at least one way to tell when your game is autosaving. At certain points, two yellow circles will appear in the lower right corner of the screen, just above it, where players can see their equipped weapons and ammo.
These rotating yellow circles indicate that the game is currently autosaving, which means that if the player dies or exits and reloads the game, they will respawn before this save point.
Regarding when this happens, it usually happens whenever the player changes areas, finishes or starts a mission objective, ends a combat or something similar.Read also

In some games, players can use backup saves to get around this sort of thing, but Outriders doesn't have any offline saves.
Instead, character data and progression are all stored online on Outriders servers, which means there's no way to back up your save data.
Players will have to trust Square Enix and People Can Fly to do this for them. Fortunately, there aren't many ways for players to permanently mess up their characters inside Outriders.
The biggest thing to watch out for is dismantling or selling equipment as this is irreversible and can be very unfortunate if the player dismantles a legendary item like the Grim Marrow.
Players can even respect their skill points, so there's no need to worry about making a bad build.
Even though players can't manually save their games on Outriders, the autosave feature does a good job of ensuring players don't lose any progress.
Outriders already is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
