THE NEW FIFTH COLOR OPTION WILL JOIN THE GRAY, YELLOW, TURQUOISE AND CORAL MODELS

The new blue design will launch on May 7th in Europe and May 21st in North America.

The North American release will coincide with the release date of the Switch version of the cult 3DS game Miitopia.

Switch Lite was released on September 20, 2019 with three color options; grey, yellow and turquoise.

A fourth color, coral, was released on March 20, 2020 in Japan and April 3, 2020 in the rest of the world.

There have also been some special edition versions, such as the Pokémon Zacin & Zamazenta Edition, which was released shortly before Pokémon Sword and Shield.

The company's next big goal is to overtake the Wii, a system that ushered in an era of motion controls and family gaming when it launched in 2006, before shipping 101,63 million units over its lifespan.

The blue Switch Lite will launch in North America on the same day as a Nintendo avatar-themed version of the Miitopia RPG.

Miitopia is a customizable adventure where players launch their Mii characters on an RPG quest to take down a face-stealing Dark Lord.

A version of the game was previously released for Nintendo 3DS in 2017.
