THE STREAMING GIANT IS SAID TO BE CONSIDERING AN “APPLE ARCADE STYLE” GAMING SERVICE.
A Netflix intends to expand into video games with a new service in the style of Apple Arcade .
This is according to a new report by the The Information , which claims the streaming giant has begun recruiting an executive to lead future video game initiatives, which could include a game bundle similar to Apple's service.
Released in September 2019 and priced at $4,99 / £4,99 / R$26,76. per month, Apple Arcade gives you unlimited access to over 100 games, all of which are ad-free, playable offline and do not include microtransactions.
In a statement released to the Gamespot , the Netflix seemed to confirm its intention to expand its focus on video games.
“Our members value the variety and quality of our content. That's why we continually expand our offering – from series to documentaries, films, local language originals and reality shows,” a spokesperson said.Read also

“Members also enjoy being more directly involved with the stories they love through interactive programs like Bandersnatch e You v. Wild, or games based on Stranger Things, The House of Paper e To All the Boys. Therefore, we are excited to do more with interactive entertainment.”
A Netflix had already suggested that he saw entering the gaming market as a significant challenge. Speaking of 2019 the CEO Reed Hastings stated that Netflix had no intention of creating a game streaming service.
“We don’t compete better with the Fortnite doing something like [a streaming service] because we're not very good at it," he said at the time. “We compete by making the programs of TV most amazing you've ever seen, so you put Fortnite and come watch our programs.”
A Netflix has produced dozens of video game adaptations over the years, mostly The Witcher, Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania and a movie of resident evil . TO Netflix is also currently working on films based on two of the company's properties. Ubisoft : The Division e Beyond Good & Evil , as well as a series Assassin's Creed .
In 2018, it produced Black Mirror: Bandersnatch , an interactive movie-based adventure pick-your-own-patch adventure.
