Fortnite's v20.00 hotfix update adds the new Zero Build mode, an all-new weapon, and gives players a choice of items to unlock.

Fortnite is a game that is constantly getting updates but is making serious waves this season after controversially removing the build.

Epic Games' ultra-popular free-to-play title is now in its second week of Chapter 3 Season 2. Aside from a handful of POI updates, the biggest physical change for the season came in the form of no builds.

Playing through the game's ongoing story, an alleged leak revealed that Fortnite's no-build mode could be permanent. While that was true, players can now play the “regular” version of Fortnite thanks to its latest update.

Fortnite hotfix v20.00 update officially adds Zero Build Mode to the game. This new dedicated mode allows players to play Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads without the ability to build, something a sizable portion of Fortnite's player base has stated they prefer.

Players will keep the reload shield in Zero Build mode to make up for the lack of defense build provided. However, regular and Zero Build modes will have the new traversal abilities such as sprint and mantling. Fortnite has released a trailer showcasing the intense weapon-focused gameplay of its new mode.

In addition to adding Zero Build Mode, Fortnite's latest updates add a new weapon: the Anvil Rocket Launcher. Similar to the Heavy Turret found in the fully funded Armored Battle Bus, the Anvil Rocket Launcher is designed as an anti-vehicle weapon.

The new handheld weapon has a scope, which players can use to block vehicles such as IO Titan Tanks. Once the target is locked, firing a rocket inflicts devastating damage to anything caught in the blast. Anvil Rocket Launchers can be found in regular and rare chests, Seven and IO Chests, Supply Drops, and Sharks.

Hotfix v20.00 also reveals the next round of items to be released on the island. Fortnite players can choose between the MK-Seven Assault Rifle or the Combat Assault Rifle. While the MK-Seven's damage may have been reduced from last season, the Combat Assault Rifle has also changed.

Instead of staying with a force, AR now increases its strong recoil, meaning players will need to gradually consider it. Both Assault Rifles will be available on the island from Saturday, April 2 at 4:4 am ET until Monday, April 23, at 59:XNUMX pm ET.

The addition of the dedicated Zero Build Mode is sure to please all Fortnite fans, whether they prefer builds or not.

While Fortnite's latest Battle Pass once again features Marvel characters, a few different IPs could be dropping on the island. According to a recent leak, Eivor from Assassin's Creed Valhalla is coming to the game.

Fortnite is free to play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
