Leveling up is important in Dragon City for many reasons, but all of them will help you. The purpose of this guide is to give you a complete overview of why you should level up and what levels are important to achieve in the first part of this guide.
In the second part, we have some strategies that help you gain experience to level up without breaking resources.
Which player level is important?
With each new level you will unlock new things in Dragon City, especially in the first new levels you reach you will get new Dragons and Habitats that are really useful.
You should try to reach level 40 as soon as possible to unlock everything, after that you will only get some gems and a higher limit for farms and habitats.
At level 58 the player has all existing limits and unlocks and the only reason to level up beyond level 58 is to show off and get some gems. However, the unique gems you earn for leveling up are really not worth leveling up at level 58+ because it is very difficult to get this experience for just a single gem.
Leveling up strategies
The strategy you should use depends on how much gold you have in your account, but in fact, the two go together. The first is in case you have less than 1 million Gold in your account, but the good thing about this one is that it will help you earn Gold.
Once you have more than 1 million gold, you can switch and make the second one which gives more experience points but will cost gold, so you can repeat strategy one again if necessary.
Breeding experience (less than 1 million gold)
The basic strategy here is to breed dragons that you can sell for a good amount of gold. With each dragon, you will gain experience by placing them on the ground and can sell them immediately.Read also

This works great when pairing Nature Dragon with Metal Dragon to get a Jade Dragon at 50% all time. The Jade Dragon has a very short crafting time and you will receive 100.000 gold for selling it.
The Medival Dragon is also a dragon that works well to do this and even sells for 200.000 Gold.
The Neon Dragon is a perfect dragon to do this strategy, just pair a Dark Dragon with an Electric Dragon for a 100% success rate.
When you create the dragon, simply place it in a habitat and then sell it (if you don't want to keep it) and get the Gold and Experience and start the whole process until you have 1 million Gold in your account.
Lots of experience with crystals and habitats (over 1 million gold)
With this strategy, instead of earning gold, you will spend it, but you will receive much more experience in the process.
You can get Crystals or Habitats that will give you a lot of experience when you buy them. Just look them up in their store and see how much experience they will reward and which ones you can afford.
If you already have all the habitats you can, you can also put a habitat in your stockpile (for later use) and put in a new one without losing the old one.
Alternatively, you can do the same with crystals.
There's no general rule of thumb on what you should do because it all depends on what you've already built, how much gold you have and also what player level you are (in terms of what you've already unlocked in Dragon City), so go ahead. all of them and see which one will give you the greatest return on your investment.
