🕹Builds And Runes: Ryze Champion's Guide

Ryze is a mage champion. Like some other champions in the game, Ryze has a fragile start to the game, increasing in power as the game progresses, until he becomes one of the strongest champions in the game by the end of the game. Ryze has great DPS potential, as well as being able to damage multiple opponents at the same time. Typically, this champion is used in mid lane.

Champion Description

“Considered by the vast majority to be the most skilled mage in Runeterra, Ryze is an ancient and bitter archmage who carries enormous weight. Endowed with enormous arcane power and a remarkable physical structure, he relentlessly searches for the Global Runes, which are shards of pure magic that once created the world from nothing. He must retrieve these artifacts before they fall into the wrong hands, for Ryze is well aware of the horrors they can inflict on Runeterra.”

Ryze's abilities

(Passive) Arcane Mastery: Ryze's abilities deal bonus damage based on his bonus Mana. He receives a percentage increase to maximum Mana based on his Ability Power.

(Q) Overload: Passively, Ryze's other base abilities reset the cooldown of Overload and charge a rune. When Ryze casts Overload with 2 charged runes, he gains a brief burst of Movement Speed. Upon casting, Ryze hurls a charge of pure energy in a straight line, dealing damage to the first enemy hit. If the target is affected by Flux, Overload deals bonus damage and deflects to nearby enemies hit by Flux.

(W) Rune Prison: Ryze traps a target in a rune prison, dealing damage and slowing their Movement Speed. If the target is affected by Flux, it is rooted.

(E) Spell Flow: Ryze launches an orb of pure magic power that deals damage to one enemy and a debuff to all nearby enemies. Ryze's abilities have additional effects against the affected unit.

(R) Portal of Realms: Passively, Overload deals even more damage against targets affected by Flux. Upon casting, Ryze creates a portal to a nearby location. After a few seconds, allies near the portal are teleported to the target location.

Note: After staking 750 mana with Archangel's Staff, it will transform into Seraph's Embrace, greatly increasing the stats the item gives the champion.

Ryze's Tips and Tricks

The cooldown of (Q) Overload is reset each time (W) Rune Prison or (E) Spell Flux is used.
Each use of (W) Rune Prison or or (E) Spell Flux charges a rune. If two runes are active, Ryze's next (Q) Overload will consume them to give him a movement speed bonus. Be careful, this combo lowers Ryze's DPS in favor of better mobility.
Take advantage of mage troops to place (E) Spell Flow multiple times and quickly shoot down the wave of minions.
