🕹Builds And Runes: Champion Malzahar's Guide

Malzahar is a champion mage. His abilities are focused on dealing damage per second (DPS), being very powerful against tank champions and also against neutral objectives. In addition, he also has crowd control in his kit, bringing a lot of utility to his team. Typically, this champion is used in mid lane.

Champion Description

“A fanatical seer dedicated to the unification of all life, Malzahar truly believes that the newly emerging Void is the way to salvation for Runeterra. In the desolation of the Shurima desert, he followed the voices that whispered in his mind all the way to ancient Icathia. Among the ruins of that land, he looked into the dark heart of the Void itself and was given new powers and purpose. Now Malzahar sees himself as a shepherd charged with bringing others into the fold…or freeing the creatures of the Void that dwell in the depths.”

Malzahar's abilities

(Passive) Void Sway: If he hasn't taken damage or Crowd Control effects recently, Malzahar gains a huge damage reduction and immunity to Crowd Controls, which lasts for a short time after taking damage.

(Q) Call of the Void: Malzahar opens two portals to the Void. After a short delay, they fire projectiles that deal magic damage and silence enemy champions.

(W) Void Swarm: Malzahar summons Voidlings to attack nearby enemies.

(E) Evil Visions: Malzahar infects his target's mind with vicious visions of his own death, dealing damage over time. Using Malzahar's other abilities on the target will reset the effect. If the target is killed while afflicted by the visions, they are transmitted to a nearby enemy unit and Malzahar gains Mana. Malzahar's Voidlings are attracted to affected units.

(R) Nether Grasp: Malzahar channels the essence of the Void to suppress the target champion over an area of negative energy.

Make the most of your (E) Evil Visions ability to push lane, regenerate mana, and damage your enemies. You can include (W) Void Swarm to help with these tasks.
You have to be patient to cast spells at the right time, because they have a big cooldown.
His (R) Nether Grasp ability can be removed by a Mercury Bandana. Pay attention to the target you are aiming for.
You are vulnerable during your (R) Nether Grasp. Pay attention to your placement when using it.
