Aatrox is a duelist champion, combining crowd control and area damage, commonly used in Top Lane for its potential in one-on-one combat. He makes up for his lack of mobility with impressive regeneration and damage if he correctly lands his abilities on the enemy. We can see this champion being used in mid lane in some cases.

    Champion Description

“Once honorable defenders of Shurima against the dreaded Void, Aatrox and his brothers have become an even greater threat to Runeterra, and the only thing capable of defeating them is a deadly and insidious form of sorcery. But after centuries of incarceration, Aatrox was the first to find freedom again, and he came out corrupting and transforming anyone foolish enough to try to touch the magical weapon that contained his essence. Now, with a stolen body, he roams Runeterra transfigured into a bizarre version of his former self, seeking an apocalyptic revenge.”

    Aatrox's Abilities

    • (Passive) Death Herald Stance: Periodically, Aatrox's next basic attack deals bonus physical damage and heals him based on the target's maximum Health.
    • (Q) A Darkin Sword: Aatrox slams his sword into the ground, dealing physical damage. He can hit up to three times, each time in a different area of action.
    • (W) Infernal Currents: Aatrox slams the ground, dealing damage to the first enemy hit. Champions and Large Monsters need to get out of the area of impact quickly or they will be dragged to the center and take damage again.
    • (E) Threshold Advance: Passively, Aatrox heals when dealing damage to enemy champions. When activated, it advances in one direction.
    • (R) World Annihilator: Aatrox unleashes his demonic form, terrorizing nearby enemy troops, gaining Attack Damage, increased healing, and Movement Speed. If he gets a kill, this effect is extended.

    Aatrox Tips and Tricks

    • Passive skill cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds for each skill used, so don't hesitate to use them as soon as possible.
    • Aatrox can use the skill (Q) – The Darkin Sword three times. If it hits enemies in the final range of the first two uses and the center of the third, it knocks their enemies into the air and does much more damage.
    • The flash can be used during the "casting time" of each (Q) - The Darkin Sword, allowing you to quickly surprise your opponents.
    • The skill (E) – Umbral Advance allows you to jump over some walls.
    • Make the most of the control provided by the (W) Infernal Chains to hit all your charges (Q) – The Darkin Sword on the target and deal optimal damage.
