This is a very useful device for all the Game Boy fans out there. In addition to being able to play, the adapter can detect fakes.

The GB Operator, a small adapter from Epilogue, allows owners to play and manage their Game Boy cartridge collection on PC. All original Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games are supported, and the application used to play the games can run on Windows, Mac and Linux.

We didn't get a chance to try one out for ourselves as unfortunately the adapter isn't sold in Spain so we can't speak to its quality first hand but the device uses mGBA as its main emulator which allows for control and cheat support. Plus, you can create an always-updated save file so you can pick up where you left off, like on an official console and a system that lets you record games made for a Game Boy onto empty cartridges.

On Epilogue's website, where the device can be ordered (unfortunately they shouldn't deliver to Spain), it's even revealed that the GB Operator can "detect most pirated cartridges", which seems ideal for retro collectors who want to make sure they have copies. from your favorite games.
