14 RPG games for casual gamers

Casual gamers might not have as much free time as they used to, so these digestible RPGs are perfect for them.

With some of the longest story games being RPG's (RPG games), few of them appeal to the casual gamer. Large plots can deter casual players, especially if the RPGs are also difficult, require a lot of prior knowledge, or move at a slow pace.

Looking back at some of the greatest RPGs, games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt  e  Dark Souls  are not suitable for casual gamers. They have steep learning curves or confusing histories. Here are some games for those who want to broaden their horizons by playing RPGs, but don't want to waste too much time.

However, the genre isn't exactly known for its casual experiences, especially since most RPG's targets a niche audience with the time and freedom to really immerse themselves in the worlds presented by these games. 

Although you should probably think twice before choosing Elysium disk e Bloodborne, casual gamers can still turn to some of the best RPG's at all times to satisfy your needs. This article has been expanded to include a few other games, while platforms for each title have been provided to make the process of tracking these releases simpler.

A Nintendo has a knack for creating bespoke games for the whole family. Miitopia  serves as a prime example of the company's knack for satisfying a casual market, even if the game separates itself from other RPGs by including life simulation mechanics.

The combat system is directly impacted by the relationships between the main Mii characters, while the story is charming enough for the genre. For those looking to delve into RPGs, the Miitopia  do Nintendo Switch  it's a great place to start.

13 - Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Lasting approximately 30 hours,  Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning  presents one of the top and more accessible combat systems of genre action RPG . While the story is simply decent, the variety offered by the battle system means the game never gets boring.

Hardcore gamers should look elsewhere if they are looking for a long game. For a casual gamer then Child of Light  could be your alley. It's a turn-based game with beautiful visuals, an effective story, and great music.

With a short completion time estimated at around 11 hours, Child of Light  It doesn't require much effort, but it doesn't waste a second either. As long as someone appreciates RPGs with fun combat and great artwork,  Child of Light  worth it.

11 – Undertale

Undertale it's a gem for PC that deserves to be played. It's a game that assumes the user doesn't need to kill anyone. Undertale it will take approximately 6 hours for players to win, so they won't get lost in a long story.

Even if someone plays casually, Undertale will certainly impress. the big thing about Undertale is that it can be played casually or on a full run for extended gameplay.

10 – Diablo 3

the game of Diablo 3  it doesn't have a long learning curve or complicated history that will deter casual gamers. After a few hours, players will be immersed in action-oriented gameplay.

The main story is short, with most of its content taking place towards the end of the game. Whether a person wants to play casually or with a consistent and conscious regularity, Diablo 3  is a game for people from all walks of life.

9 – Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim it's nothing if not adaptable. Want an intense experience that offers a great challenge? Skyrim  offers. Looking for a relaxed romp in a fantasy world without paying too much attention to the main quest? Skyrim  offers.

Similar to game Fallout   , the biggest asset of Skyrim is the freedom it offers players. It's very possible to spend hundreds of hours on this RPG and not complete the fairly short central plot. Skyrim is one of the best RPGs for casual gamers .

8 – South Park: The Stick Of Truth

Obsidian Entertainment is known for games with an intense story like  Fallout: New Vegas  e  Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. To defeat  South Park: The Stick Of Truth  It won't take the player as long as the other Obisidian RPGs.

The game is full of light-hearted dialogue, but also cheeky and suggestive humor. It's a game of approximately 11,5 hours with little content for a complete player. South Park: The Stick Of Truth  is a must-play game for fans of the cartoon or anyone who appreciates a fun RPG.

7 – Hades

Unless someone has been hiding under a rock for the last year, they've probably heard of  Hades  and what it's about. Hades  is a rogue-lite and indie RPG that can be played for hours on end or for brief sessions.

While it is theoretically possible to win the game without dying, it usually takes multiple attempts by the player to get anywhere. Hades received countless rebalances to make the game fit for both casual and hardcore gamers.

While originally debuting on PC and Nintendo Switch,  Hades is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One on August 13, 2021 .

6 - Bastion

If anyone found the game successful  Hades  fun, they should try one of Supergiant Games' other successful RPGs. Bastion was released in 2011, laying the groundwork for games like Hades.

With a main story that takes approximately 6 hours to get through, Bastion should please all players. Bastion  offers a surreal experience with a plot that isn't too difficult to follow and a learning curve without a long curve.

5 - Mass Effect

Casual gamers should see the Mass Effect original as a gateway to games with more history. Unlike regular RPG,  Mass Effect  has a short main story. The game's protagonist, Commander Shepard, is a human from the Milky Way who sets out to prevent the Reaper invasion.

Set in the year 2183, Mass Effect has an easy-to-follow story that should appeal to most players. while the other games Mass Effect have longer campaigns and bring the action to the forefront, the original entry thrives on simplicity and a strong focus on RPG elements.

4 – Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars

One of the first RPGs of the Nintendo came with a happy story. Mario teams up with Bowser to defeat Smithy, who stole seven-star parts. Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars has RPG elements similar to final Fantasy, but a less complicated story for casual gamers.

This all-but-forgotten classic is a must-play for avid Mario fans, especially if they want something shorter.

3 - Fable

While it's not easy to measure the length of an average RPG, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that they typically last over 20 hours. The game Fable original takes approximately 12 hours to expire.

It's a charming game with a shorter learning curve than other RPGs. The choices you make can have consequences, but the game is short enough to attract occasional players. While not natively released on later consoles, backwards compatibility means that  Fable  also works on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

2 – Dragon Quest 11: Echoes Of An Elusive Age

Dragon Quest is the best “casual” JRPG franchise , at least when it comes to non-Nintendo-exclusive properties. Dragon Quest 11  delivers an epic yet straightforward tale of good versus evil, all told through vibrant visuals and endearing characters.

As tends to be the case with this series, the turn-based combat of Dragon Quest 11 is the swamp pattern; however, this is by no means a criticism as it is a tried and true formula that simply works. 

Dragon Quest 11  it also offers a lot of content, with the main campaign lasting over 50 hours. Though massive, the adventure and approachability tone of Dragon Quest 11 make it perfect for casual gamers.

1 – Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! e Let’s Go, Eevee!

Unlike the mainline games of Pokémon most recent , Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! are not so intense in stories. Games like Pokémon Sword and Shield are continually jumping from one idea to the next.

The original Pokémon games had static characters that exert little influence on the story. Pokémon Red e Blue were redone with the names  Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! Both are exceptional games that cater to all players.
